Flood and Flame - 1st song I wrote for the New Year - lyrics

I finished writing this song, and recorded a good version of  it today. It’s a sad song, in contrast to all my other stuff.

I’ll have it up sometime by the end of this week, for a day or two. This song will be on the upcoming FREE download album coming out in Spring.

   Always in a daydream din
you cut your skin on a dirty razor
that fell from high as the clouds declined
you didn’t feel a thing in your crimson blazer armor
your lipstick bled on my sinned forehead
you were  white as bread
for forty days in the desert
she grew inside; we were terrified
when the dark set it
we denied, we denied her
Ch:
past the point of no return
when I caught you, you got burned
to the bone, ash and rain
            mud and haze
‘cause I chose to be far
when you needed me that hour
I was both flood and flame
in the last days
